Hail To The Redskins!!!

Image
The sports team that I decided to focus on was the Washington Redskins football team. They have a very large fan base. The fan base is not only in the Washington D.C. area, but is also found all around the country. The fans are dedicated to their team and use social media as a way of tracking updates. The different social media platform that I focused on were their Twitter, Facebook and Instagram account. For the different platforms, they had a different style of reaching out. The first platform I took a look at was their Twitter. Twitter was the platform they used to engage with their fans the most. The first post that I saw on the page was shouting out to all the fans and giving them an opportunity to meet some of the palyers one on one at a restaurant in D.C. Twitter is a platform that makes reaching out and being engaged with the fans a lot easier. With just the click of a button you can respond and have a conversation with a fan. Happy Death Day *SPOILER ALERT* Over Fall Break I got the chance to see Happy Death Day in theaters, the day after it came out. I had been wanting to see this movie for quite some time and had high hopes that it would be a great film. The previews that I saw looked so interesting and kind of scary. A quick summary of the movie is that the main character is living the same day over and over again. The day starts and ends the same way every time. The day starts with her phone going off and her waking up in a random guy’s dorm. The day ends by her being killed in a different way each time. Throughout the movie she is trying to figure out who her killer is, so that she can prevent herself from being killed. The main character is not a nice person and is very rude to lots of the people around her. Trying to put the pieces together and figure out who hates her enough to kill her, was the tricky part of the movie. The movie would have you thinking it was one person and then...

Interesting Vs. Boring Classes

I thought that the most interesting topic we have talked about is impression management. I found this discussion one that was very interesting. The part that I found most entertaining was when everyone agreed that we have different personalities depending upon which platform we are on. For example, most of the class agreed that the way they act on Facebook is not the same way they act on Twitter. I felt like our class was on the same page for most of the discussion, which made it enjoyable to hear all the different points people were making about how people act on social media vs. real life. The picture that I included on this post relates to this topic. It shows a person holding up four different masks and typing on a key board. Depending on who he interacts with online, depends which “mask” he puts on. This is what I think of when I hear the term impression management. Another class that I enjoyed was the one where we had the skype guest speaker. She was so inspirational a...
