Hi my name is Sarah Byrne and I am a senior here at the Mount. I am majoring in Communications with a focus on Public Relations and I have hopes to pick up a minor in history as well. I am hoping to do something in the communications field when I graduate. This summer I interned in the communications department for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The communications department was divided off into four teams, I worked with the strategic communications team. I loved it! The team was basically the internal PR for the Chamber. I would be very interested in doing something like that when I graduate, but I am open to anything.

I have a variety of interests that include cooking, baking, playing basketball and traveling. Trying new things is always something I find enjoyable and interesting. Some of the best things come from spur of the moment decision and choices. Traveling allows you to gain so much knowledge that you can’t be taught from a book or in a classroom. Getting to experience something for yourself is life changing. You not only see so many new things, but you also meet so many people who are all so different. Cooking and Baking are fun and allow for my creative side to come out. I think I’m a pretty good at baking but cooking is a skill I am trying to get better at. Basketball is the final interest of mine that I will be talking about. I love basketball! I have been playing all throughout my childhood but I stopped once I got to high school and then I picked it back up when I got to the Mount. I am a member of the women’s club team on campus and was selected as the Vice President for this season. I think basketball and working out in general are good ways of getting my mind off of everything going on in my life. Working out is one of the best stress relievers.

When I created my blog I picked my current background because I love the color pink and flowers. I also felt like that the design of the background isn’t too distracting from the context on the page. The theme that I am hoping to create for my blog is something that is happy and vibrant for someone to read. I will try my best to keep my page positive and attention grabbing.
